Highest quality ceramics
The Big Green Egg was constructed in cooperation with experts in the production of modern ceramic and composite materials using new types of ceramic originally developed by NASA for its space program. This sophisticated material, which is only used in the Big Green Egg, the original on the market, is the highest quality composite material used in a cooking appliance. The ceramic offers the best heat insulation and reflective properties and generates heat that has a special effect on the flavor of the food and dishes, regardless of the cooking method used. Because of the EGG's outstanding insulation properties, the outside temperature has no effect on the temperature inside the Big Green Egg. Even in sub-zero outside temperatures, you can set the cooking temperature to within one degree, between 70°C and 350°C.
