For SMEG household appliances (large and small appliances for private households) used in Germany or Austria that are approved for the German and/or Austrian market, SMEG Deutschland GmbH grants a 24-month manufacturer's warranty in accordance with the following warranty conditions.
To ensure prompt and accurate service during the warranty period, please complete the warranty card enclosed with the product and return it to SMEG Deutschland GmbH. No warranty coverage can be provided without the warranty card and proof of purchase. Upon receipt of the warranty card, the product will be registered.
SMEG Deutschland GmbH (“SMEG”), Landshuter Straße 12, 80637 Munich, Tel. +89 92 33 48 - 0 grants the purchaser a manufacturer’s warranty for the above-mentioned SMEG household appliances subject to the following conditions:
1. Duration and start of the guarantee:
The warranty is valid for 24 months, starting from the date of purchase (invoice date of the purchase receipt) of the appliance. It applies only to new appliances purchased and, if applicable, installed by a SMEG authorized dealer in Germany and Austria that comply with the applicable electricity and/or gas guidelines for Germany and Austria and are approved for the German or Austrian market.
2. Conditions of the guarantee:
The device must be inspected for defects, especially external damage, immediately upon delivery. Defects must be reported to the seller immediately upon discovery, along with the invoice and the fully completed and signed warranty card. A further prerequisite for the warranty is that the device has been properly set up, installed, and used.
3. Scope of the guarantee and other conditions:
The guarantee applies in addition to the statutory warranty rights to which the end customer is entitled against the seller of the product and does not limit these.
During the warranty period, SMEG will remedy any functional defects free of charge if they are demonstrably due to manufacturing or material defects – at SMEG’s discretion, by replacing or repairing the defective parts free of charge or by replacing the entire appliance free of charge.
In the event of a warranty claim, replaced parts or devices become the property of SMEG.
Repairs to large appliances are generally carried out at the place of use, if necessary, in the customer service workshop. Repairs to small appliances are carried out after sending them to a SMEG service partner. The purchaser must allow customer service free access to the defective appliance. Any costs incurred due to the inability to provide free access are the responsibility of the purchaser.
The transport risk associated with delivery and return of the product in warranty cases is borne by the purchaser. Any unnecessary or unauthorized use of customer service will be charged.
Claims for damages – including consequential damages – are excluded unless they are based on intent or gross negligence. In the case of injury to life, limb, or health, liability is only excluded if the damage is not based on an intentional or negligent breach of duty by SMEG or its legal representatives or vicarious agents. Liability is limited to typically occurring, foreseeable damages. Liability under the Product Liability Act remains unaffected. The buyer is not entitled to any further claims or rights.
If replacement parts are installed in a warranty claim, SMEG will provide a new 12-month warranty on these parts, starting from the delivery of the replacement part, subject to the terms and conditions set forth here. If a replacement appliance is delivered, a new 12-month warranty applies from the delivery date, subject to these terms and conditions.
4. Limitation of Warranty:
The guarantee excludes defects that are due to:
incorrect assembly or installation
improper operation or use
mechanical damage
Transport damage
Repairs or modifications not carried out by authorized qualified third parties
Use of the devices in commercial areas
overload
Deployment outside Germany or Austria
natural wear and tear
other defects that are not due to manufacturing defects
