Product details
Bread saw knife, highly ground, short
The elegant blade shape with its slight back curve goes back to the style of the early 1920s.
The hand-ground, polished serration with its extremely high teeth and thin sheath ensures exceptional cutting quality. The individual teeth on the cutting edge are thinner than those of conventional serrated edges. This makes them significantly sharper, but also somewhat more delicate. Small burrs that may form in the individual teeth during use are completely normal with this serrated edge and do not detract from the knife's excellent cutting ability. The result of all these features is an incredibly sharp, durable bread knife.
Its low weight allows for easy and comfortable handling. The aesthetics and functionality of this bread saw make cutting bread a daily pleasure, without a sea of crumbs.
Handle: red beech
Rivets: aluminum
Blade: stainless
Surface: finely polished
Blade length: approx. 195 mm / 7.5 inches
Total length: approx. 315 mm

Häufige Fragen
How does the hand-ground, polished serration with its extremely high teeth affect the cutting ability of the bread knife compared to conventional serrated edges?
The hand-ground, polished serration with its extremely high teeth and thin blade ensures exceptional cutting quality, as the teeth are thinner and sharper than those of conventional serrations, although this also results in greater fragility. The blade is made of stainless steel, approximately 195 mm long, and the overall length is approximately 315 mm. The handle is made of red beechwood, and the rivets are aluminum.
How do I care for the Windmühlenmesser bread knife "Highly Ground" to maintain the sharpness of the blade and the quality of the beechwood handle in the long term?
To maintain the sharpness of the blade of the Windmühlenmesser bread knife "Highly Ground", you should regularly clean it by hand with a damp cloth and dry it immediately to prevent rust. The beechwood handle should be treated occasionally with a food-safe oil to condition the wood and prevent cracking.
