Before first use

Rinse your Le Creuset product with hot soapy water before first use; then rinse thoroughly and dry.

Before using the kettle for the first time, remove the lid, fill the kettle with clean water, boil the water and then pour it away.

Do not fill it beyond the marking line.

When cooking on induction hobs, avoid using the “Power” function, as it should only be used to quickly heat large quantities of water.

Lift the kettle and place it on the surface instead of moving it to avoid damaging the kettle base or surface
Never slide the product across a glass ceramic hob/stovetop, as this may damage the bottom of the product and the glass plate. Instead, always lift the product and place it on the surface.

When it is hot, place it on a heat-resistant surface.

Clean your kettle after each use – rinse it by hand with a neutral detergent. Never use abrasive brushes or cleaning agents, as these could damage the enamel. Finish – dry your kettle thoroughly to prevent limescale buildup.

Do not leave water in the kettle when it is not in use.

To remove limescale deposits, fill the kettle to the maximum mark with a mixture of 50% water and 50% white wine vinegar and simmer for 20 minutes. If the deposits are stubborn, use a gentle descaler.

After rinsing, dry the products thoroughly and store them in a dry place.

Use the product on the most appropriate size hob to avoid damage or overheating.

Do not rely on the automatic shut-off function on induction cooktops/hobs. In the event of a malfunction, all the water in the kettle may evaporate, which could lead to damage due to overheating.

For kettles with a folding handle, make sure the handle is firmly in the upright position before placing the kettle on the heat source to avoid possible overheating of the handle.

Close the lid tightly to protect the handle from steam.

Always make sure that the spout and the notches in the lid are facing away from you and other people.

Do not let the kettle dry out while boiling, as this will quickly lead to overheating.

Remember to turn off the heat source when the water starts to boil and remove the kettle from the heat source.

Once your water has boiled, wait 10-15 seconds before removing the kettle from the heat and then begin pouring. Never tilt the kettle upside down. Make sure the lid knob is firmly pressed down.

Allow your kettle to cool thoroughly before refilling with cold water.
