The original Petromax Dutch Oven, often referred to as a Dutch oven, is ideal for cooking and baking outdoors or in your home oven. Cast iron pots have existed since the 18th century. Even back then, the unique properties of cast iron were valued. With the Dutch Oven, Petromax continues this tradition and equips it with a variety of sophisticated details.
Cast iron Petromax quality
Thanks to the excellent properties of cast iron and its special surface structure, heat is efficiently stored and transferred. The pre-treated surface (seasoned finish) eliminates the need for initial seasoning, allowing this robust Dutch oven to be used immediately. It can be used outdoors over an open fire or with charcoal. The raised rim of the lid allows embers or charcoal to be placed on the Dutch oven. This heats the Dutch oven from all sides, making it ideal for baking bread, for example.
Maximum cooking pleasure thanks to sophisticated details
The Dutch Oven is equipped with sophisticated details that make it easier to handle and enhance cooking pleasure. A robust handle allows you to lift the Dutch Oven safely, three feet ensure the Dutch Oven stands securely, and a thermometer hole allows you to check the temperature without having to lift the lid. If you want to lift the hot lid, this is particularly easy with the Petromax Lid Lifter. Another highlight is that the lid can be turned upside down and used as a pan. Along with all these sophisticated details, the Dutch Oven features the classic Petromax design: The lid is adorned with the elegant Petromax logo, which has always stood for excellent quality and premium products.
Available in various sizes and expandable with practical accessories
The Petromax Dutch Oven is available in several sizes, so you can choose the right pot for your recipe or the number of people you're serving. All Dutch Oven sizes are available with feet or with a flat base. The small Dutch Oven (ft3) with feet has a capacity of approximately 1.8 liters. This allows you to prepare meals for 1 to 3 people. In addition to the lid lifter, other accessories are available for the Petromax Dutch Oven, such as the transport and storage bag, the care paste, and the ring cleaner for cleaning cast iron. We also offer trivets and cast iron grate inserts (from ft4.5), which primarily enable cooking and baking without burning.
