The Shun Classic series combines centuries-old Japanese samurai forging with modern, technically sophisticated manufacturing processes. The result is an extremely high-quality Damascus knife series, refined down to the smallest detail and consistently focused on consistent sharpness. The knives are therefore ideal for professional use. The Shun Classic blades are attractive thanks to the characteristic, silky-matte pattern of the 32-layer Damascus steel composite. Combined with the elegant, slim-tapered handle made of black pakka wood, the overall aesthetic concept is characterized by a fundamental commitment to quality and function.
VG MAX steel with a hardness of 61 (±1) HRC forms the core of the entire blade, right down to the cutting edge. Encased in 32 layers of Damascus steel, the knife achieves its unparalleled anatomy with a stable blade that is both hard and elastic thanks to the two components.
The Shun Classic blades have a double-sided grind.
The slender handle, made of durable pakkawood, features a traditional Japanese chestnut shape. High-quality resins added to the wood make the material particularly durable and moisture-resistant. Its typical chestnut shape, thanks to a slight edge on the right side, ensures a comfortable and secure grip while cutting. The full tang ensures stability and balance.
